Penchant for Destruction

The account of Jesus restoring a Demon-Posessed Man in the region of the Garasenes (Mark 5:1-20, Luke 8:26-39) has always stood out to me as an incredible moment. The demonic army, Legion, who had long-posessed this man were in fear of Christ, being that His mission was to free all men from the bondage of sin. They entreated Jesus to let them enter into a nearby herd of swine. Since they couldn't destroy the man's life, they figured they would try and take the livelihood of those who tended the swine. This penchant for destruction results in the death of about two thousand swine. But arising from all that death, was a saved individual, who went on to become a one man legion himself, preaching of the Messiah to the Gentiles in Decapolis.
