In Judges 15, we see Samson, Judge and Nazirite of Israel, unleash decimation on the Philistines with a fury that burns...literally!After his wife betrays him, he returns to find that she has been given in marriage to another. Outraged, he hatches a plot to burn the crops of the Philistines to the ground with 300 torch-bearing foxes. The wheat, olive trees, and vineyards all burn and in retaliation, the Philistines kill Samson's wife and in-laws. This only serves to bolster his fiery rage, and leads him on a path that will intersect with a fresh donkey's jawbone, destined to do a mighty work in his hand.
